My design work is largely architectural and landscape orientated in scale. I'm fascinated by creating food producing, zero waste landscapes and adventure playspaces which challenge contemporary views on play and risk taking.
As Green Technology Manager and a designer at CERES Environment Park I am currently working with my colleagues to design and construct a suite of interactive technology projects which aim to provide working demonstrations and future visions for intensive urban agriculture (aquaponics), solar cooking (solar concentrating technology), solar cooling (PV technology) and urban biogas. These projects will be completed by early 2012 (please visit www.ceres.org.au for more information).
A longer-term project of mine at CERES is the ongoing development of the CERES Adventure Habitat, a sculpture park for children and adults.
As a freelance sustainability planner I am currently working on long term projects with 15 Mile Creek School in rural Victoria to develop a Zero Emissions vision for the school in 2016, and with the Casey City Council in Victoria to develop visions for Urban Food Hubs.
As a shadow puppeteer I develop works with musicians, on short films and theatre. In 2009 and 2010, in collaboration with Australian singer Lior and artist Anna Parry I toured Australia and held residencies at The Sydney Opera House and The Sydney Theatre Company with the ‘Shadows and Light’ tour.
I am currently working to develop a major production called 'Sweet Dreams' with the Sydney based a-cappella group 'The Song Company' (www.songcompany.com.au). This show will present a surreal landscape of day/night dreams in shadows and through song. This production will be toured across Australia.
